-In the specific section of images on my final subject, a reflection is unfolded that mainly concerns the area of the art of dance, especially the dancers who deal with it. In particular, as this world of dance is quite competitive, it has the obvious effect of reacting more negatively to the mental and physical health and state of the dancers, especially emphathizing on those who want to pursue it professionally.
Of course, from the beginning they themselves know the difficulties between love and sacrifice that constitutes this field, but the influence it has on them will always be a serious matter that is quite necessary to present to the rest who do not know what happens exaclty behind the scenes. In other words, in the images displayed below, we encounter various areas of difficulties that dancers go through in their daily life at home as well as during their dancing lessons. Some initial consequences can be presented in the way they manage their physical hygiene and health factor, which with the wrong handling or treatment (e.g. poor diet, pills for weight loss, etc.) can lead to extreme and serious physical diseases/disorders such as very common anorexia or bulimia. Since every day they put and receive a lot of pressure on their bodies and from the environment in order to reach a high level of "perfection" and self-improvement that they desire, it is pretty logical that it has a negative effect on them, most importantly affecting their psychology in general. So, through my series of images I want to highlight the fatigue, frustration, over-effort about reaching the best aspect of themselves and at the same time the reality of the struggle they are going through, but also the fear of failure that is constantly present in this form of art.
In conclusion, my goal is to offer another glimpse of the reality that takes place in the world of dance so that this major work of these people can be better understood and respected.
